DOG HOME BOARDING

  • Do you feel guilty when you put your dog into kennels and then spend your whole holiday worrying about him or her?

  • Are you one of those people who won't take a holiday because you can't bear the thought of putting your dog into kennels?

  • Do you want your dog to receive genuine one on one care and attention so that you can concentrate while you are away on that important business trip?

Now there is a alternative which we believe is the next best thing to looking after your dog yourself - let them have a 5* holiday of their own with one of our dedicated host families!

This is what some recent clients have had to say

"I was impressed that [the host family] met our dogs daily routine very quickly.  The dogs were not curious or even bothered about my absence when I returned the following day. The transition on returning home was uneventful, almost as if they had been left for a couple of hours at their own home, which is very reassuring for someone who has never handed their care over to anyone except our children. Thank you"

Mrs. A of Alsager

"I was very pleased to find a pet service in the area, who could cope with my short notice holiday, who could look after my two dogs with great care, continue their special diets, and give them love and affection, in short a home from home. I have no hesitation in recommending your service to everyone."

Miss P of Siddington

"[The host family] are friendly and care very much after "Jessie". Jessie enjoys his visits. Great sitters!!"

Mr T of Cheshire

"Gimlet was taken care of very well.  He seemed to enjoy his time very much"

Mrs. N of Wilmslow

"Everything was perfect, I felt that Bertie had had as happy a holiday as I had had. Fantastic."

Mrs. B of Congleton

"The service given by [the host family] is absolutely brilliant. Truly home from home for Buster, so obvious he enjoys being in their loving care. A big thank you from ourselves and Buster."

Mr and Mrs. M of Trentham

The Happy Pet Sitting Service Ltd. currently has 5 properties licensed by either Congleton Borough Council or Staffordshire Moorlands District Council for dog home boarding.  This is your assurance that rigorous conditions covering husbandry, welfare, health and safety have been assessed as being successfully met.

By having established a network of host families we have the flexibility to cope with any problems that may arise.  If you currently use a home boarder who operates on their own, remember to ask what would happen to your dog in the event of a domestic emergency or family illness.

Our host families work in partnership with The Happy Pet Sitting Service Ltd. and are police checked and fully insured.  Host families only board dogs from one family at a time.

Some of the local authority license conditions mean that we are unable to offer dog home boarding under the following circumstances:

  • If your dog is registered under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 or a dog hybrid registered under the Dangerous Wild Animal Act 1976 we are unable to accept it for home boarding.
  • You must be able to provide proof that your dog has current vaccinations against Canine Distemper, Infectious Canine Hepatitis (Canine adenovirus), Leptospirosis (L. canicola and L. icterohaemorrhagicae) and Canine Parvovirus and that the course of vaccination was either completed at least 4 weeks before the date of first boarding or in accordance with manufacturer's instructions (please consult your vet).
  • If the number of dogs to be boarded exceeds the maximum for which the host families are licensed then we are unable to help.

We can even help if your dog is an entire male, a bitch in season or a bitch due to be in season during the boarding or a puppy under 6 months of age (these have to be hosted by families who do not have dogs of their own).

Your dog's welfare and happiness is of utmost importance to us.  We want you to leave your dog without having to worry about it while you are away.  Therefore, if the boarding period is to exceed 4 days/3 nights an overnight "sleepover" to assess your dog will be required and is chargeable at the normal rate.

By supplying your dog's own food, bedding, bowls and toys you can be assured that it's routine won't be broken.

Dogs requiring medication are welcome - any health and exercise requirements are carefully discussed at our initial meeting.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you wish to discuss your requirements further or to make a booking.
